Hello Beautiful People!
I’m a few days late, but I promise, I’m not a dollar short! Last weekend, we celebrated our eldest daughter’s 3rd birthday. We’re not sure where the time went, but just like that, we officially have a three-year-old and a one-year-old!
The Hubs and I have a very busy work schedule. It often feels like we are two ships passing each other in the night. Because we knew the schedule that we had to work with, we decided in advance that we would schedule time off to celebrate Charlotte all weekend long. Not only was it a celebration of her birthday, but it was a time for us to wind down and focus on our family. If you are able to work a traditional work week (even in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic) cherish it because that time is absolutely precious.
Over the weekend, our plans consisted of a hearty breakfast, shopping, the beach, a day trip to Niagara Falls and a very small celebration in our humble backyard. Needless to say, the birthday girl had a BLAST. She grinned from ear-to-ear from one activity to the next. She loved her beautiful balloon bouquet, her gifts, and of course, her cake (made by Natalie of Nat Bakes Cakes).
Birthdays do not have to be a huge extravaganza, but to me, it is important to take time to celebrate life. Our goal was to focus on our girls and really enjoy time with them, and thankfully, that goal was accomplished. We finished the weekend with full hearts. Charlotte was shown so much love and we couldn’t have asked for a greater tribe who continuously shows up and shows out for our little family.
So, here is to our big girl being THREE! I have a feeling this ride call parenting is about to get that much more exciting with no plans of slowing down any time soon!
xx See you all soon!
